As of this summer, the Peachtree Corners community is several steps closer to cityhood. House Bill 396, a bill introduced in January, passed the House and Senate and received a signature from Governor Deal. Once certified for compliance by the US Department of Justice, residents will be asked to vote in November on a referendum to create the City of Peachtree Corners. If the majority of voters vote yes, Peachtree Corners will become Gwinnett County’s 16th city.
