The City of Snellville, in public/private partnership with small business owners traveled to the Cobb Energy Center to learn innovative ideas and fresh perspectives from Tom Szaky speak, INC Magazine’s #1 CEO under the age of 30. The groups goal: to create vibrant, engaging community centers where commerce can thrive.
Knowing that the city needs new lifeblood to continue to win the battle against the Great Recession, Snellville leaders have tenaciously put together initiatives to help them prepare for their next decade. Their fight is tough. They need a city center where community and commerce can meet. They need to empower innovative students to obtain advanced degrees and return to Snellville to start businesses that will thrive.
Mayor Jerry Oberholtzer stated, ”We are not a city to sit on its laurels and wait for progress to come our way. We know that luck is what happens when preparation meets opportunity. We are getting prepared and we are actively looking for opportunities. We believe that if Snellville offers entrepreneurial strategies for its residents – whether they are 16 or 60, we can create a place where community and commerce thrive.”
